Canadian bassist and composer Brent Nussey is active in the Japanese music scene, based in Tokyo.

カナダ生まれ。ベーシスト。ボストン、バークリー音楽大学卒業。ウィット・ブラウン、レイ・ブラウンに師事。その後、ニューヨーク滞在。ジェームス・ウィリアムス、ダイアナ・クロール、ジャヴォン・ジャクソン、エデイ・ヘンダーソン等、様々の著名なミュージシャンと共演する。９７年、来日。以降、AKIKO, 小林　陽一、有田　純弘、吉岡　秀晃、中村　誠一、等日本で活躍するジャズミュージシャン、工藤重典, 雨谷麻世、斎藤雅広、等のクラシック奏者、加藤和彦、坂崎幸之助、松田”ari”幸一等人気ミュージシャン、更にはルー・タバキン、ベニー・パウエル、ソフィー・ミルマン、ニコル・ヘンリー等の来日ミュージシャンと共演、精力的な活動を展開する。

Brent Nussey

Canadian bassist Brent Nussey attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, earning a Degree in Music, and then lived in New York for five years. While in Boston and New York, he played with numerous well-known musicians, including Diana Krall, James Williams, Javon Jackson, Eddie Henderson, and others. Brent now lives in Japan, based in the Tokyo area. Since coming to Japan he has been playing with well-known Japanese artists such as jazz musicians Yoichi Kobayashi, Yoshihiro Arita, Hideaki Yoshioka, Seiichi Nakamura and AKIKO, as well as classical musicians Shigenori Kudo, Mayo Amagai and Masahiro Saito, popular artists Kazuhiko Kato, Konosuke Sakazaki and Koichi “Ari” Matsuda. Brent also plays with many visiting foreign players such as Lew Tabackin, Benny Powell, Sophie Milman and Nicole Henry.
